RX 480 or GTX 1060

Hi there
I am planning to buy a new graphic card for my pc
my pc specs are as folows:

intel i5 4570 3.20
gigabyte b85 d3h
8gb corsair value select ram
550 watt fsp hexa
antex gx 505 case
2500 gb hard drive

at the moment i am using a r9 280 dual X and I wanted to see which of these cards which I mentioned above is the best for 1080p gaming for more than 60 fps.
the card in my country which they sell are as follow's:

Asus Geforce GTX 1060 Strix 6GB GDDR5X
Sapphire Radeon RX 480 Nitro+ 8GB GDDR5
Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1060 G1.Gaming 6GB GDDR5
MSI Radeon RX 480 Armor 8GB OC GDDR5
Palit Geforce GTX 1060 Super JetStream 6GB GDDR5

strix 1060 6gb

or nitro+ rx 480

are the best choices

they are so close, look how the cards compare on the specific games you want to play

Hi there
I will be playing only at full hd like 2k or 1920 X 1080 at freesync or whatever is best for the game and I want more than 60 fps

the two cards are great for 1080p


if you want 60 fps at 1440p you would need to lower settings

Hi there thank you for giving me a option but I just want to play all games more than 60 fps at full hd thats why I asked which card is best RX 480 or GTX 1060 and I need for future proof that is the main thing

you asked about "2k" that is what 1440p is

there is no such thing as future proof

Keep in mind GPU performance can only show what the monitor allows. If you buy a 1080p 60Hz monitor you won't get more than 60fps, and you may lack the improvements that come with G-sync (pricey) and FreeSync (reasonable).

So, when you decide also think about the monitor that you'll use it for or plan to.

Hi there

The is I will be using my TV which is a LG 43LF510T which is a 43 inch the resolution for this is 1920 X 1080 so I thought of going for RX 480 since it is a bit cheaper than gtx 1060 but games like witcher 3 assasins creed syndicate batman arkham knight are not AMD friendly even crysis 3 I am using windows 10 now so I thought which is best for full hd at DX12 gaming even doom vulcan ?

Not sure where you got idea games like Witcher 3 and Batman Arkham Knight are not AMD friendly. Looked at some benchmarks and both rx480 and 1060 run about same.

Doom in Vulkan does provide a big performance boost. Was surprised at frame rate increase when switched my rx480 to it.

Wanted to mention AMD cards often have lower CPU usage in certain games. Here is a comparison video with both cards running same Intel processor:

SO which is better the gtx 1060 strix GDDR5X which RS 62000 or the RX 480 which is RS 53000 these are the prices in my country Srilanka
