Computer Randomly Shutting Down

Hi,

I have an issue with my computer randomly shutting down, particularly while using MATLAB. Basically what happens is that when running particularly intensive code (ie, 90% proc usage, 30-40% RAM usage for this particular script), the computer just runs for a little bit and then goes black. My computer exceeds all the hardware specs for matlab (I built it myself). Intel i7 4790K, 32 gigs RAM, 850 W Gold PSU, 970 GTX, gigabyte MOBO. The weird thing is that while this code is intensive, it is very much less intensive than some of the python and R code I have run in the past (ie, I have run python scripts that are 100% CPU and RAM usage for several days at a time with no issues). I have tried rectifying the issue with mathworks directly, but unfortunately they are as incompetent as one might imagine (even though they built matlab, I have exactly 0 confidence in their ability to diagnose my issue as they seem rather incompetent). I have logged all of the matlab console output to the file; no errors show up or anything. Also, I have checked my system logs directly in windows, and a system reboot nofitication is put in there it looks like, but there is again nothing actually displayed by the computer indicating any sort of issue when this happens. Does anybody know any other things I can check out to try and diagnose this? I honestly don't have time to spend weeks/months going back and forth about why my state of the art computer can't run code that my 5 year old laptop can run just fine (obviously it takes a while, but guess what, it doesn't crash!)

Temperatures are low; all cores of CPU is in the 60 C range, which is well below the default shutoff for the proc. I get a Kernel-Power Critical Error it looks like in the even logger.
