Intel i5 to Xeon e3

I currently have a gigabyte GA-H81M-H lga1150 with a i5 4460 cpu

Been trying to find a cheap upgrade and have come across a Xeon e3 1241v3 at a great price

I've checked pc part picker and it says they are compatable
Is this correct , will it swap into my motherboard reasonably easy and is it worth the upgrade ?

That is a great CPU and yes it says its compatible with that motherboard. Its a simple CPU swap. I have been using a Xeon E3 for everyday tasks including gaming and its as good as a i7 and runs much cooler. In my opinion its a very good upgrade assuming you are getting a good deal. Keep in mind though that particular CPU does not have integrated graphics so you will need a dedicated GPU. Also in the future don't rely on any website for compatibility other than the manufacturers website.

So , an update - all parts are here but none are yet fitted
Ity birthday today so have a little extra cash . So I'm thinking of updating something else at the same time as the cpu

It has
Gigabyte ga-h81m-h motherboard
Will have Xeon e3
Will have corsair h55
Ram corsair cml16gx3m2a1600c10 2 sticks
Gtx970
Kingston 250 gb ssd
Sea gate 1tb hdd

What else could I upgrade ?
Motherboard ? Ram or both

I'm looking for more fps whilst gaming
