Hello,
I am thinking about getting a new 2TB hard drive and I've been looking at the reliability of different drive manufacturers.
I've seen that Seagate drives used to be very unreliable, and that HGST drives are the best.

Does anybody have any advice on this topic?

Thanks.

The newest seagates are much better than the previous. HGST is still at the top, however, there is nothing wrong with the higher end Western Digital drives such as Red Pros and Black edition drives. Avoid WD Green drives.

For top reliability, HGST is the way to go. That said, always have recent backups if you actually care about data. Much more can happen than a drive failure.
