Hi all, I want to start with the fact of I'm very new in the building community and I'm just looking for some advice on what to buy to hopefully upgrade the performance of my computer for gaming purposes. I'm not looking to spend more than about $400-$500 if possible

Now with that the components I have are to my best knowledge are as follows

CPU- AMD FX-4300 3.8ghz
RAM- 8 gig
GPU- AMD Radeon R5 230

I'm looking to be able to run a few more games like dishonored 2 and games around that. Any help is nice thanks!

I also saw I have a 500w power supply as well

Doesn't really matter. You can get the best FX processor, but they are still pretty bad.

Given that, the requirements for dishonoured 2 is a FX 8320, so you want that or better.

Also if I were to buy the CPU and GPU needs to run the game what would I have to look out for before I buy them such as sizes, power use, connections and other things I'll need. I have found a GE Force GTX 660 for a GPU and an FX 8300 CPU that I'm willing to buy and put in after I know a bit more
