HELP! Can a broken USB header pin cause all USB ports to fail?

Assembled my new build and everything went great. Booted it up and changed BIOS settings succesfully. Decided to tear it back down and do cable management before installing OS. I guess in the process I managed to completely uproot a pin on the USB header that goes to the Case's front USB 3.0 ports. No clue how this happened since i didn't wiggle at all, not to mention the fact that it only happened to one random pin. The specific pin is USB3_RX_DN on the JUSB4 header of a MSi B250m Mortar Arctic.

I thought to myself... "oh well, I'll just not use those front panel USB ports"... as an alternative to having to buy a new motherboard. I boot it back up and now none of the motherboards I/O USB ports recognize any devices. Keep in mind, the ports do provide power to any device I plug in(verified via USB fans), but that is it, no recognition of the device.

Why would this happen? Did that broken pin affect the whole motherboard somehow?

BTW, It's not anything BIOS Settings related... before anyone mentions that. Like I mentioned, I had all of that set up and working fine before I broke the pin.

I just don't know why the motherboard's built in USB ports wouldn't fully work, seeing as I still get power to anything I plug into them. They don't recognize the device. Is it possible to short just part of the circuit? I don't know how that stuff works.

... but I'm saying the built in USB ports on the back of the motherboard aren't working either(I/O shield, no cables go to those). The header I broke a pin on is the optional one that goes to the case's front panel USB ports. Why would breaking a pin on that effect the motherboard's built in ports?
