does solid state drive have lifespan?
been using this ssd since february of 2016
planning on using it for new build

It most likely has plenty of lifespan left. If you want to be sure, you can check the SSD's status with programs like CrystalDiskInfo, which will also tell you how much data has been written to the SSD. That's the main thing that wears out an SSD. If there have been less than a hundred terabytes of write activity, the SSD is fine on that front.

Among my systems here in the house, there are 8 SSD's.
Your HyperX is younger than all but one.

My oldest is a HyperX 3k, 120GB, from mid-2012. Still going strong.

Your drive will become obsolete due to size years before it 'dies'.
