GTX 960 2GB Underperformance Issues

Lot's of my games are almost unplayable because of an extremely irritating stuttering problem. Before, I thought my issue was an inadequate CPU, but I've realized now that it's probably my GPU, because after uninstalling and reinstalling Nvidia drivers the stuttering disappeared until I restarted my system. It returned after that. I've tried many other solutions and so far nothing.

My Specs:
Nvidia Ge Force GTX 960 2GB
AMD FX-6350 (OC'd to 4.2Ghz)
ASRock 970A-G/3.1
2x Ballistix S 4GB DDR3-1600
650W PSU

Remove your CPU oc. See if that fixes it. Or take your side panel off and see if you can get a fan blowing on the heat sync near the CPU. Sounds like vrm throttling possibly

This problem occurred even before I oc'd CPU first off, secondly I've monitored cpu temperatures and they don't get too high, even in demanding games, but I might not be understanding the situation 100%. Still, I'm pretty positive it's a GPU problem

It's not the CPU overheating it'd be the motherboard on a spot that doesn't have sensors. It's a free thing to try so I'd do so... But do whatever you want

Well I don't want to play the "maybe this will work" game, is there a way I can measure vrm temps? I've tried GPU z, it doesn't display them

No there is not hence my suggestion if you don't want to play the maybe this will work game then sell it and start over. That's your only option until your issue is diagnosed

I'm not really sure where the vrm is on my motherboard though...

Sorry, i've just never done anything like this before, how would you put a fan in there? Are there holes in the mobo for the screws, I'm just really confused
