Basically what is happening is whenever my Smart TV is used to stream via netflix, it slows the internet connection of everything else in the house. It's extremely annoying, especially when I try to watch videos/play games on my PC whilst my family watches netflix. To avoid the common violence of no wifi access, can someone tell me how I can limit the amount of wireless given to the TV so it can be spread more evenly?

You need a router that has QoS but that is not your real problem. Sounds like your internet connection is not large enough for netflix and your stuff.

No matter what you do someone is not going to get all the bandwidth they need. You can favor yours but then netflix does not work. Whose traffic is actually more important. This really is no different than walking down the hall and unplugging the tv you are just going to do it with QoS.

So if you can come up with a agreement on how much bandwidth each person can have you likely can enforce that with a router that has a advanced form of QoS. It will not some how create more bandwidth so you can both run at the same time, that you can only get by calling your ISP and buying a...
