I checked the LG website, and looking at the specs there doesn't seem to be much of a difference other than some improvement with the sound system on the LG signature. The prices, however, are incredibly different. The E6 is around $4,000, and the LG signature is around $8,000. What am I missing here? What's justifying the double in the price tag?

There is a difference but is that difference worth $4000 extra or not depends on satisfactory level of user(that is you). The signature comes with bit tweaks on its Processor to provide bit better color gamut. The signature is comparatively thinner which required lot of work to achieve while improving its overall performance.

There is a performance difference but how big that improvement is and is it worth that extra $4000? If one wants better color range and is fine with spending extra for it then Signature is the option.

If you plan on buying OLED then I would also like to inform you that SONY A1E is going to launch in 6-7Months. With the SONY X1-Extreme Processor and LG OLED combo SONY A1E is sure to outperform LG Signature with...

With the SONY X1-Extreme Processor and LG OLED combo SONY A1E is sure to outperform LG Signature with possibly lower price. And you wont be requiring the extra heavy sound bar(which comes with LG) as the display itself works as speakers. As getting OLED is a long term investment I would recommend you to wait for bit longer to get better options to select from.
