Please try to convince me to swap my FX 6300 8GB gaming desktop for an i7 laptop.

It's been a while now since I've been wanting to exchange my gaming desktop with a laptop and I've even been offered a 2nd gen i7 with 8GB but I simply couldn't help thinking that I would miss my games so much it wouldn't be worth it.

I currently have a good gaming rig which can for example run Crysis 2 at max settings at 75-85 FPS which no common i7 aptop could do.

I love watching movies on the pc(or laptop) and surfing the net, but other than that what would be the advantages of making the swap?

In the case of an i7 laptop, I could probably do without the heavy gaming in favour of light gaming, as long as the processor is at least comparable to my FX 6300 and the graphics card can at least play old games like Mafia 1 from 2002 and F.E.A.R. from 2005.

Not to mention I love watching videos, movies, series, all kinds of videos in high resolution. SO as long as it has that, I guess it's good enough to compensate for the lack of heavy gaming. But it's gotta be at least a 2nd gen i7 which is more or less comparable to my FX 6300.

But what else can a laptop offer me as an advantage??

I'd say a second gen i7 is about equal to the unoptimized mess that is AMD FX.

As for what else a laptop can offer that a desktop can't, my only answer is portability. Then again, seeing as this is an older laptop, the battery might already be worn out.
