But i dont know if the i3-6100 is good enough is it? Or do i need to go with the i5-6500.
Im only gonna game with some friends so im not up to all the streaming.

And i have a 500w PS and the Asus HM100 Motherboard with 8 gigs of ram!

Honestly, neither. With the release of 7th gen chips, there isn't a lot of reason to buy 6th. The Pentium G4560 is about as fast as an i3 6100 and only costs $60, while the i5 7500 is priced the same as the 6500 but 200mhz faster and with a few new features. You would need to update your BIOS to use one of these better CPUs - I assume you didn't just buy a board and leave it in the box, but already have a CPU in it?

2 core / 4 thread chips are "adequate" right now for gaming, but in some cases you can see real improvements even at 60hz gaming even moving from an i5 to an i7. It really depends on what you're willing to spend.
