Hello,

I'm looking for a new gaming laptop. I will be mostly playing games on it but will also be doing the general things like browsing the web, word prossessing, watching YouTube Netflix etc.

I've found one I like but i just wanna know if it's capable of running most games like GTA, fall out, COD, battlefield etc. I know it should be able to but I'm Unsure about running it on ultra settings and how it will cope.

Also I'll probably be playing older games like Star Wars battlefront 2, age of empires, blazing angels. I'm sure they will run fine though without compatability issues.

Here's the link; http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/asus-republic-of-gamers-gl502-15-6-gaming-laptop-black-10146351-pdt.html?istCompanyId=bec25c7e-cbcd-460d-81d5-a25372d2e3d7&istItemId=xtaxlaximq&istBid=tztx&srcid=198&cmpid=ppc~gg~1011+%28LTC%29+Windows+Laptops+and+Convertibles+-+savings~10146351_Asus_GL502_phrase~Exact&mctag=gg_goog_7904&kwid=GOOGLE&s_kwcid=DS!700000001428950!165387040238!p!!g!!gl502&device=m&ds_kids=43700015660671100&gclid=CJ3bnpLO7NACFQS77Qod0toPrw&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CL_E1pLO7NACFUSmUQod6zkKCQ

Also I'm wondering how future proof this is? With the new games that come out in the future.

Thanks in advance.

asus will run in ultra setting. the asus is a good choice too, albeit one a bit old. suggested those two for their value.
i think u can find this model even cheaper online.http://www.dell.com/uk/p/alienware-13-laptop/pd?oc=n00aw13r301&model_id=alienware-13-laptop
nothing beats a 6gb 1060 ;)

There's so much choice! do like that Alienware though I might upgrade the graphics chip just so it's future proofed. I like the Asus too. Did you say it's old? Couldn't quite make that out

the asus is a gen old. but still will run those titles in ultra @ 40-50 fps easy.
the 1060 will run them @ 60-70 fps.
sadly u cant upgrade the graphics chip once u get ur laptop. only way is to customize them when u buy.
get the dell if u want to save some cash ;)

A Gen old isn't that bad to be honest. What setting will the 1060 run at? Yeah I know it is unfortunate. I could save up a bit more for a custom. I'll have a look at the dell. Regarding the Alienware 13 it's going to have to be the 15 as the screens a bit small for me.

i would rate the 970m almost = 1050ti.
so dell with 7700hq and newer model does it for me.
the 1060 will run maxed out >50fps anything at 1080p easy

Ah so the 970m is the same as a 1050ti is there a newer gen of the Asus? That sounds ok I need to compare it to other systems. Would going with this gen be more future proof?
