I'm looking to upgrade my GPU. I only plan on playing on 1080 and at the moment I have a 60hz monitor. Should I get the 1070 for this or the 1080 for ultra 60+fps? I am also running an i5 3.4 with 8gb of ram. I know I need 8 more GB of RAM and I plan on purchasing that with the GPU. But at the same time if I need to upgrade my CPU I'm not sure if I should do that first (which will involve a new motherboard and a whole different set of ram sticks, along with a new CPU cooler) or if I will be fine with an i5,a new GPU (1070 or 1080) and 16gb of total ram(can only support ddr3 with my motherboard). Please any help would be appreciated!

I decided and chose to upgrade my motherboard, cpu and ram right now. new cpu to an i7 7700k kabylake, motherboard MSI z270 Krait Gaming and 16Gb coarsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 memory. All games seem to be playing alot better but now i have a problem with everything freezing and having to reboot my pc to unfreeze.... not sure what the problem is.. for now tho when it comes to GPU i think i will wait a bit, maybe once the 1080ti comes out for all companies some price drops will happen with the 1070 or 1080..

hmm well then i guess ill see where i stand with money when i decide to upgrade. I feel going with a 1080 will be the best future proof choice if i decide to upgrade monitor to game at higher resolutions. Maybe even the 1080ti. once i figure out my current issue with games freezing i will look more into it.
