Sold a 6700k with z170 mobo combo for 460$ last week.
I use my PC for 4K video editing, light 1080p gaming at highest settings, also use it as a HTPC.
I already have a corsair H100i, GTX 1070, 16GB DDR4 RAM, Samsung evo 850 500gb ssd & WD Blue 2TB HDD, Corsair RM550 all in an NZXT 340 case.

I want to replace CPU-mobo with RYZEN.
would R7 1700 with ASRock AB350 Pro4 be enough?
how much can I overclock the 1700 with ASRock AB350 Pro4 B350? will it be stable? I want to atleast touch 4ghz with the 1700.
OR should I get the X370 mobo? or 1700X?
Ideally I don't want to spend more than 500$.

Solution
If you are planning to overclock, get the X370. X370 boards have better motherboard and chipset design which allows more reliable power delivery. In fact AMD designed the X370 for overclocking compared to the rest.

Also, the Ryzen 7 1700 usually hit 3.7-4.0 GHz, so if you want a 4.0 GHz overclock, go with the better binned chip which ranges 4.0-4.2 GHz at OC. Also since you are going to OC that high, you should need to have an AIO water cooler of at least 240mm (which you already have), so the lack of heatsink-fan in the 1700X is not a problem.

Therefore if you want to OC your Ryzen to 4.0 GHz, get the X370 and 1700X.

Yeah... KGT1182 i dont really think so... i think the B350 Pro4 motherboard should be ok... you should be able to get it near 4 GHZ (at least 3,8-3,9 GHz) with voltage around 1.35 V...

Get the 1700 in any case and OC...
