I have an old alienware aurora from around 2009, I am wanting to upgrade to get better performance out of games out at the minute. It currently has:

Windows 10 64 bit
intel core i7 920
14.0 gb of triple channel ddr3 ram
alienware OH869m motherboard
1024mb nvidia gts 240
1 ssd
2 raid hardrives

I have a budget of around 130 gbp and think that I am probably best of upgrading the gpu first and then the cpu in the future. I have been looking at the gtx 1050 ti mini from zotac and am wandering if this is a good choice for my current build and if I will get better performance. At the minute I get frame drops when playing games like cs go and cant even run any new games.

will this be an ideal upgrade?

Thanks.

Wow, you've been struggling along with THAT? I've seen benchmark test on Youtube showing that i7 as still having some life in it to run a good videocard. In performance, the 1050 Ti is ideal, the only question is compatibility. I'd email or otherwise contact Zotac if I was you, in order to find out if that card is intended for use with a UEFI bios or is it compatible with the legacy bios you have.
