I'm not sure if this is a monitor issue or a video graphics card issue. My monitor shuts off and back on, over and over for as long as five minutes any time I start, exit, minimize, or maximize most games. After 1-5 minutes of constant resets, my display starts working again.
Sometimes it doesn't happen at all when I start a game, especially the first game startup after I restart the computer. If I load a game again later in the day, the problem comes back.
I used to connect my TV to use as a second monitor, and the TV display would not reset like this at all. Its only the one monitor. If I run a game in windowed mode, the screen does NOT reset like this.
I have tried updating video card and display drivers, but the driver update never fixes it. The problem has persisted for months. I've googled this issue for hours and never found my specific problem. I would be so grateful for your help on this, words can't describe my gratitude!

AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor
Motherboard 1 x Gigabyte GA-970A-D3P -- AMD 970
