My old cpu mini cooler wasnt providing adequete temps, and I was going to get a new one. I was wondering what would be the best cooler for under $100 and would provide the lowest temps. Also my case supports up to 180 mm high cpu cooler.

Noctua's D15 is better than either liquid cooler listed above. The Cryorig R1 Ultimate is also (probably) better. Both of these are very large though, and even though the liquid coolers will be louder and likely perform a hair worse, and also have the risk of having their pumps fail or leaking water, they move the cooling surface to the edge of the case where it isn't in the way.

Look, you're throwing the noctua hype out. This device works just fine. So does the noctua. The noctua tends to only fit in wide cases and not mid tower atx cases.

The h115 is an improved version and alleviates some of the issues introduced in the h100 series coolers.

As far as that goes, most higher end AIO coolers have louder fans. Just get aftermarket fans and you'll be fine.

You can look up the cooling performance of the NH-D15 in comparison to the top five rated aio coolers at the time, and the h100 was pretty on par. Being that the h115 is newer and better designed, it will perform at or better than the NH-D15.

Again, get aftermarket fans.

The whole deal about air cooling is its less expensive. Its not better, just less expensive for on par performance. The difference between any premade cooler air or water is negligible...As long as it's a high end from a major brand. Kraken, corsair, thermaltake, cooler Master, noctua. There's others. He's asking about the corsair.

I suggested a higher end corsair, that's all.

Yup, technically the noctua is a better (and less expensive) cooler (by a teensy bit), but it is clunky. I got the NH-D15 and it covers like 90% of my mobo. no bueno.

when I decide to spend some $$$ I will probably do like what TSG suggested and get the H115 and put noctua 140mm fans on it (I am a huge fan of noctua...hehe...sorry that was bad..but for a nice cooler I am liking the corsair)
