Is it okay to leave PC systems without a PSU?

Hi there,

First time builder here. I've recently purchased all pc parts to build my own PC. Kudos to all those thread creators and solution experts here, you guys helped me out a lot for a first timer =D
However, I couldn't find my current situation in this forum, so here it goes...

I brought this CM V650 Semi-Modular PSU and it seems to be faulty... I produced buzz sound when the plug is turned on while the PSU is turn off. Yes, I didn't even connect it to any part of hardware. I've even tried on different socket in my house and even my friends house, so surge protector isn't the problem here as well. Therefore, I'd plan to RMA it for replacement.

However, I've done building my system... so I'll have to unplug all the connectors and detach the PSU from the system...

Will my system be fine without PSU? I'm worried that my system will be damaged by static discharge since the pc case is made of metal.

Solution
It's safe. Close the side panels of case and it will protect your components from any static. This effect is called 'Faraday's cage' (I think:) )
