My setup:
FX-6100 4.4ghz OC
MOBO: MS-7641 v3.11
COOLER: MAELSTORM 240T (brand new)
Problem:
CPU throttles itself down from 4.4ghz to 1.4Ghz for a couple of seconds which result in a big lag spike while gaming. When running PRIME95 and monitoring via HWiNFO64 i've noticed that my CPU temp is skyrocketing when it reaches ~40C to 255C. I know this is a bad sensor, computer would shutdown if the temp would be real. in BIOS i've shut down every turbo boost frequencies etc, so it would be a fixed core speed. But none of that helped. The cpu tries to protect itself by lowering the core speed to 1.4ghz when sensors hit max 255c. I have no idea how to fix this, other forums just suggest to buy new MOBO, but no money for that. I need this setup to be stable and games - playable. picture shows whats going on.

Solution
It isn't a bad sensor; it's the VRM that gets too hot and sets the CPU temperature very high to force it to throttle down to 1.4 GHz. Your motherboard isn't designed to overclock a CPU, particularly with a cooler that doesn't cool the VRM.

I agree with this, that motherboard can barely take the CPU at stock clocks, overclocking without decent airflow on the VRM's is just not good with that motherboard.
