I am building a new pc (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tBPbGf) and i have a WD Caviar blue 1tb in my old build and i want to reuse it. I know it has to do with re formatting and partitions and stuff like that, but i don't know how to do it. I'm pretty new to all this stuff lol. Is there a good tutorial some one can link? any help is appreciated.
PS: I have windows installed on the old HD and i plan on putting windows on the SSD in my new build.

Solution
In that case, don't plug it until you install Win on SSD. Once you do that, you can simply plug it in and use it normally, even without formatting. Just make sure SSD is listed first on boot device priority in BIOS (but that should happen auto if you connect HDD later).
EDIT: Obviously, turn power off before plugging HDD (Reminder as you mention you're new to this :) )

Will i still have everything in that drive that i had before? I want to use it as if it was a new hard drive with basically nothing on it.
