How can I locate what is using all my hard drive storage?

My daughter has an HP Pavilion 11" convertible touch screen laptop. Windows 8.1. She has a total of 4 games on it, the biggest being like 8 gig. She has iTunes, Chrome and Steam, other small stuff. No pictures, no music, no videos. When I check properties on Program files, one is less than 2 gig and the x86 is less than 30 gig. She has a 500 gig hard drive with only 12 gig free and that's only because I deleted a couple games that she doesn't play anymore.

What is using that much space??? I'm not used to OS's past 7 so does that have something to do with it?

Well thank you so much for the reply. I downloaded and ran the WinDirStat and found the problem..... Bandicam videos that she forgot about and no longer wants. I had no idea what Bandicam was. lol 351 gig of Minecraft videos...... Wow. Anyway, thank you so much again.
