Tpm's are they suppose to be used on homebuilt pc's

like even if you don't use encryption is it a good idea to buy one and let windows or whatever do whatever secure passwords run in the background ect? is it good to have or something for specific use. guess I'm not really sure the question I'm asking as iv read different things about them and don't fully understand why they exist or why there not standard if indeed there recommended to have ect.
 
Solution
if you use your pc at home you dont realy need it these are mostly use by company to prevent acces to there computer from unauthorize people .
