Zotac 1050ti OC vs Zotac 1050ti.

Solution
disregard the RX 480 talk if it's out of your price range. get whichever zotac card you can afford and don't sweat the difference between the two, which is miniscule. we're talking probably 1 extra FPS on the OC card vs the "standard" one.

the OC model looks like it *might* have a *slightly* better cooler on it but that card uses such a small amount of juice the cooler really doesnt matter as much as it does on faster cards. in short, i wouldnt buy the OC model if it cost anything more than $5 over the "non OC" mini one you listed. the clock speeds out of the box really mean nothing since you can overclock the card yourself.

and yeah, that RX 480 is so much better than the 1050ti if you can fork over the extra cash

If the over-clocked is significantly more then the none card I would say no, the only difference is that you are paying for the factory to over-clock the card for you. Benefit of factory overclocking is purely that you get the performance benefit without having to do the overclocking yourself and voiding the warranty. If you're happy to void the warranty and will overclock anyway, there's not any benefit to factory-overclocked boards.

I think the value is not in the overclocking. You have a slightly faster 1050 Ti that's all. It's not like the card will now be in a higher performance bracket. In my opinion the value would be in the upgraded cooling solution. In theory at least, Zotac would place an upgraded fan/heatsink on the overclocked card. So it would run cooler and quieter than the other card while performing slightly better.

That may not be 'worth it' though, since these are not hot running cards anyways.

and don't worry about overclocking yourself, it will not void your warranty unless you mod the card or the card's BIOS in any way. no way they can tell if you overclock with a program like MSI afterburner or whatever
