Modem recognizes only 1 device even after powercycling

After 6 months, my modem no longer recognizes my router and desktop PC. The only device that I can connect to it is my macintosh laptop.

I have tried:

  • Restarting my router
    Restarting my modem
Restarting both my router and modem (turning on my router first)
Connecting my modem directly to my PC
Using command prompt to issue ipconfig /flushdns, /registerdns, /release, /renew
    Trying different ethernet cords

Strangely enough, only 2 out of 3 ethernet cords work to connect with my laptop, and none have worked to connect to my PC. When I connect the 2 "working" ethernet cords to my wireless router, it does not recognize any internet connection and my modem does not show any internet activity. Therefore I cannot even use my wireless router as a switch to try to connect my laptop through the router with the two ethernet cords.

Everything on the router works except for the internet. The "non-working" ethernet cable can be used to connect the PC/laptop to the router... but cannot be used to connect the modem to any device.

I am unaware of any power outages to cause this, and I am so confused at how to determine what is the cause. Is it the ethernet port on the modem, PC, or router? Why are only some cords working? Could there be multiple partial failures with some things still working with each other? I don't know where and how to begin.

Internal Ethernet port on a ASUS m5a97 r2.0 motherboard
Modem: Arris SURFboard SB6141
Router: TP-Link AC1200

ISP ----> Modem ------ethernet cable ---> Mac Laptop works.

ISP ----> Modem ------ethernet cable --->[WAN]Router[LAN] ------ethernet cable ----> [MB ethernet port]PC does not work.

Are you connecting the Modem to the Router's WAN port via ethernet cable?

Did you restart (power off/on) or reset the router by pushing the small button in the back?

If the latter, then you changed the router's settings to their default values.

What default IP address is the router set at? Could be either 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1

If your network devices are looking for the incorrect router IP then the devices will not be able to receive a DHCP IP address. Thus no network connection, no internet.

Can you run and post the results of ipconfig /all from...
