ram not showing up in windows

I installed a 4x4 gb kit of g skill trident z ram into my asia b150 pro gaming aura motherboard. the bios shows all four sticks of ram yet windows only detects 2. a program called belarc advisor shows that two slots are empty which doesn't make sense because the bios detects all 4 sticks

so I updated the bios and still no luck

I've tried that, in the bios it detects all 4 ram dimms on my system. On another page in my bios it says only 8 gb of ram are installed. Its basically only using two of the ram dimms when I have 4 installed.

Contact your motherboard manufacturer. They'll assist in fixing the issue or with the RMA process.
