Upgrading my PC

I bought a computer from a friend for cheap and runs not so good. I plan on upgrading the graphics card (probably a 1070) and power supply to 600 watts as well as getting some more RAM. I guess my main question is whether or not the motherboard needs to be replaced and if so which one should I get?

Motherboard: MSI B85-G41
Power supply: 400 watts
Video card: Nvidia GT730 2GB
Processor: i7 4790
Ram: 8GB

Thanks!

I'd keep the motherboard. The CPU (i7-4790) would not bottleneck the GTX 1070, so the CPU/MB would be sufficient (especially if you're on a budget). I'd also keep the 8GB RAM for now as some games (depending on what you play) would be good enough for that RAM capacity. This can easily be upgraded later on (but I'd suggest getting a new 2x8GB than adding another 8GB to the old RAM to eliminate any incompatibilities). For the PSU and GPU, here are my suggestions:

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790 3.6GHz Quad-Core Processor (Purchased For $0.00)
Motherboard: MSI B85-G41 PC Mate ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (Purchased For $0.00)

Thanks for the help, so 450 watts would be enough to power my computer assuming I get the 1070 and would 600 watts just be unnecessary?

That's correct. 600W is way too much of an overkill for the amount of power that your entire system will consume. The GTX 1070 is a very powerful card with low power consumption. Paired with an i7-4790, your GPU and all your components would never reach past 350W on a full load. On an average typical load, the consumption will be significantly less than 300W. You still have a lot of headroom given a good-quality 450W PSU.
