Hello guys,

I will only be recieving additional cash from my family for a little longer, so I want to maximise my system while I can. (about 5-6 months more). Here's what I have right now

i5 7600 (non K)
GTX 1060 3G Mini
16GB HyperX Fury
H110 Pro MSI Mobo

So I am really up for suggestions here. I am gaming at 1080p, Id really like to try out 2K sometime. I just dont have the monitor yet. Also if you say a GPU is needed, I have to take AMD into consideration becouse of FreeSync.

But perhaps a new CPU for games such as Battlefield?

I enjoy playing Open World Games, FPSs and do try out AAA games as they get released. I have no time for MMOs and never play MOBAs if that helps any.

Thanks!

Too early to tell when Canonlake is officially going to be released. If I were you, I'd NOT upgrade the MB if I'm sticking with a 1080p (though, I *may* upgrade the CPU to an i7). No point also in upgrading to a GTX 1070 or even Vega if the games you play in 1080p reaches acceptable framerates with your 1060. In short, given your system, I would only upgrade if I want to go to the 1440p level.
Best CPU upgrade without the hassle (and expenses) of changing your motherboard would be the i7-7700 (though you can also opt for the K version but you're only paying for the slight upgrade in base clock and not its OC capabilities due to your H110 mb).

Of course, you can still **keep your current i5-7600** and upgrade the GPU to a GTX 1070 (if you are looking at 1440p gaming). Unfortunately, as of this date, the best AMD Radeon is the RX 480 (which is sadly a bit lower in performance than the GTX 1070, esp. in 1440p).

The good thing about the 1070 is that your current CPU (i5-7600) will *NOT* bottleneck its max. performance. Though you can also think of getting a GTX 1080 for the best fps you can do, but, the i5-7600 might not gonna cut it (you may by then forced to upgrade to the i7).

For me GTX 1070 would be good for 1440p but you can't take advantage of the FreeSync with today's AMD cards at 1440p - unless you can wait til Vega is released and reviewed by mid-2017 or so.

Yep this is my setup right now.

Sorry to bug you additionally guys,

But if you were to keep the system 1080p,

Would you change mobo+CPU say @ Cannonlake
or get a new GPU , Vega/Whatever Nvidia Releases that is an 1070 upgrade. (rumors say 2070..)

I cannot really go for Ryzen as I use ITX boards, and I have yet to see AMD socketed one yet. Otherwise I have no bias.

Cheers!

Cheers mate,

Framerates are very acceptable.. Now that with your solution in mind, I'll see if Intel is planning to change sockets. If its same I might grab one of those newer i7s.

and if I am going 1440p, you gave me a fair insight aswell.

Thanks a lot :)
