Hi guys,
I've been wanting to buy a new gaming desktop for a while now (I've only ever had cheap laptops suitable for browsing the web) and I'm in need of some advice. I have little to no knowledge about what makes a good desktop so I'm pretty clueless here.

I'm wanting to play games like Sims 3, Cities Skylines, Banished etc. None of them require crazy good systems but my main issue is that Sims 3 with all the expansions and a bit a DLC requires more than the minimum specs to run decently. I'm not looking to be able to run games at super high settings or anything, just without major lag or them crashing mid way through playing.

this is the desktop I've been looking at and from what I've read it seems to be pretty decent and in my ideal price range (£500-£700).

Can anyone weigh in and tell me whether this would be good enough? Or if there are better systems at similar prices? Any input would be much appreciated here, I don't want to spend a ton of money on a desktop and be disappointed when it doesnt run as well as I'd hoped :??:

Would do the same job better. Swap to a i5 7500 for more power and stay under £600

I'm not opposed to it, I just figured it'd be a lot easier for me to buy a pre built desktop - how tricky is it to build one myself? Would it be much more cost effective that way? I dont mind paying a bit more to avoid building it myself and risk doing it wrong, but if it'll save a substantial amount of money then I'll gladly go down that route
