Im looking for a good GPU for a future gaming PC i plan on building once i have the money and i plan on going with Nvidia GPUs and avoiding AMD GPUs since they can turn your PC into a very efficient space heater and are power hungry and i dont want that to happen. Any good suggestions for a good Nvidia GPU would be appreciated.

cant suggest a gpu with out knowing

1--how much you want to spend

2--what games you want to play

3 --at what resolution

4--at what level of settings ie low--medium--high--ultra

5---what the other hardware would be as need a gpu thats apt for the other hardware you have

Don't know where you got that misconception, but its entirely wrong.

As for a GPU we need to know price range, when you're buying it, maybe price for the whole system. GPU needs to be paired with the rest of your system.

I would say first up that the newer AMD GPU's are no worse than Nvidia for thermals. They all fit within certain thermal limits dictated by their GPUs. Granted, Nvidia does have a pretty efficient architecture, and compared to the AMD 200/300 series, they are cooler and quieter. The AMD 400 series though is pretty good, but they don't have a true 'high end' GPU. The 480 is good, but only GTX 1060 level good.

Second, I would say that I wouldn't buy -anything- right now until Vega releases and is reviewed. If AMD utilizes some of their design ideas that they integrated into Ryzen in their new Vega GPU architecture, it could be surprisingly good. And have HBM. And be 14nm.

Third, depending on where you live having a space heater during winter months is a freaking bonus. :D

Alrighty, as for your question, so much depends on:

What kind of games are you thinking of playing.
What resolution are you going to be playing at.
G-sync enabled monitor?
Price Range?

The monitor I want (http://pcpartpicker.com/product/vhkwrH/asus-monitor-rogswiftpg348q) has G sync and I want my GPU to be capable of G sync I also plan on 4K gaming. I also want to futureproof myself

Again, there's less justification for deciding *any* of this now than deciding what sandwich you intend to eat for lunch on 3/12/22. At least with the sandwich, the stuff you like now will probably be about the same in 2022.

I wish you luck on your lunatic quest.

I'm just going to put an end to this now. Since you've joined here you've been running people around in all directions for some sort of $5000 fantasy build that you have admitted you won't be buying in 5 years. In 5 years whatever you design now will be worth about 200 bucks. Come back in 5 years when you're ready to buy, until then please do not waste our members time with your wild goose chase and empty questions. Thread closed.
