Intel scared of AMD

Solution

Yes, those are MC inStore prices.
Very standard for MicroCenter.

1 store discounting a few CPUs by no means verifies that intel is scared of amd at the moment. i will admit the timing is QUITE coincidental though.

Those articles about intel dropping prices are completely ridiculous. Microcenter takes a bath on every intel cpu they sell, they only sell them as in store only, in the hopes that you'll buy other stuff while you are there. Intel has only dropped prices $10. Go look on an amazon tracker like camelcamelcamel. I7-7700k was $350 on Amazon, now it's $340. Micro center has always been $40 less.

Does that mean ryzen is bad or the hype isn't real? No of course not, but intel isn't out there slashing 20% off all their cpus.

what an obvious observation...good call. that isn't the point really. an F1 car will always outperform a bmw. doesnt make the bwm a piece of crap. and AMD will most assuredly always outperform Intel when it comes to price. if intel counters with skylake-x or whatever, that doesnt necessarily mean it will be a good buy. its fine to want the best of the best but if that's what you want and you want to pay as much as possible for it, then root for intel

I never said amd was crap or that it wouldn't be a good buy. I was simply responding to the title of this thread, informing the op that intel is not scared of amd. So your response was "obviously" coming from a bad "observation" by not understanding my initial post.
Excluding ryzen:
intel core i3 > Any amd cpu
