So I always knew the PSU was loud since day one but I was too excited to build my new rig and I kind of thought it might have been may case fans (CM Storm Trooper.) I never even looked into the issue. Today I decided to snoop around the internet and realize that the issue is probably the thermal throttler device on it. It seems to be running at 100% all the time...

I guess my question is: Do you think Corsair would replace it after I've had it for 3 years? There is a 7 year limited warranty on it.

Secondly: Will this old OCZ Fatality 550w PSU that I have laying around suffice as a temporary replacement? https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341022

System Specs are:

i5 7600K
MSI RX 480 8gb
Asrock Killer Z270 SLI/ ac
4 Case fans that came with the CM Storm Trooper
Samsung SSD 128GB
Crucial SSD 512GB
Seagate Barracuda 1TB
Cooler Master EVO 212 (?)
Geil Potenza 2x8gb 2400

As to the OCZ, that's iffy. It might be ok, as long as it's not heavily taxed, as a temporary replacement, but capacitors etc break down over time due to usage, heat, natural chemical dissolution etc. If it's sorta kinda pretty old, you'll not probably have the full 550w capability, 100w less wouldn't be out of the range of possibility. If there are any issues whatsoever, cease usage totally. Sucks to not have the pc running, sucks more to start replacing burned out parts.

I have tested it with a PSU tester and everything seemed fine (all the lights lit up and recieved no beeps or errors) but I'm not 100% on how to read the voltages... Ill do some more research. Thanks guys!

Those psu testers are decent, but basically just for 1 thing. They'll tell you if all the rails on the pc are functioning. You'd need some really expensive equipment to really test out a unit correctly, under artificial loads.
Just hang tight, RMA's don't usually take that long, I got my Asus mobo back in 7 days, so of you keep your gaming loads light, you should be ok.
