Buying a New Hardrive

I currently only have a 1 tb hdd in my computer and Im looking to upgrade to an ssd for my operating system and some major programs. First can I move my operating system over from the hdd without buying a new windows key. And what harddrive should I upgrade to Im thinking I shouldn't need anymore than 256 GB.

Don't move your OS. Do a fresh install of Windows on the SSD, it will activate without having to buy a new key. 256 is a good size. You can get by with 120, but 256 gives you room for some applications.

My motherboard only supports sata is there a way to go from sataIII to m.2
