Hi, my Mum got me a drive to put into my School laptop but we don't know how to set it as the primary drive... Please help me out, I am running Windows 8.1 and my laptop had 21 GB of storage! Windows took up most of the space! And so when ever I try to do stuff it doesn't work because it says "Sorry We Ran Out Of Memory And Cannot Run This" WHICH IS REALLY ANNOYING!!!! Please help me out because my Mum got this card so I could use this as my School laptop (If you need a Description here you go)

The card is blue, can be taken in and out, it goes in next to the head phone jack. I have a hp laptop running Windows 8.1.

I haven't found anyone to help me so I am here at my last resort, please help me out so I can do stuff on my laptop!

Happy to help, but you have to provide more useful details. What you wrote is not sufficient.
1) Whatmodel of school laptop do you have?
2) "blue" is not a good description of an object, unless it is a Western Digital hard drive (small joke). Is this some sort of external storage card? Probably some sort of SD card, like these: https://www.google.com/search?q=sd+cards&espv=2&biw=1666&bih=962&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwixxOSHibjSAhVI8CYKHaglASkQ_AUIBygC
3) Is 21 GB the total disk space or what is available for use? You can tell by opening Windows Eplorer, right-clicking on the C drive, and looking at the properties.

Also, you won't want to set the new drive as a primary drive, if that's what you meant.

Is "Sorry We Ran Out Of Memory And Cannot Run This" the exact text of the message? If so, what are you doing at the time, becuase that is not a Windows message. Also, if the problem is actually "memory," that's different from your disk storage and the card won't help. Again, what exactly are you doing at the time and what exactly is the message?

Without the details that WK asked you for, essential for a complete answer, let me say this. As he said, you are probably talking about an SD card right? About the size of a fat postage stamp? You should use that as a data storage device and it probably shows up as the D drive. Move and store all you videos, music, documents from the C drive to it. That should free up space on your hard drive to run anything.

But seriously, give WK the data he asks for. At this point we are guessing that you have a netbook with an SD card and we'd love to give you more definitive help.
