Hello guys.

I'm having fps problem. I am getting over 50 fps on almost all games(like Csgo, farcry 3, saints row) but why my fps drops when i start recording gameplay with fraps? And i have farcry 4 too but that game never runs above 50 fps. Is there anything I need to upgrade or it is some other problem? Gta 5 also seems to work fine as i get over 50 fps. But when i start recording fps drops down.

My specs
Intel core i3 2120
Nvidia geforce gtx 960
Ram 8 gb
MB intel dh61ww
Psu cooler master 500 watts.

Your taxing the cpu to much when trying to record and game at the same time. An i3 can game fairly well on a low to medium setting. Moving to an i5 is the sweet spot for higher end gaming with ok recording, and a full move to an i7 is were you would need to be to get smooth graphics with good recording.

To get the most bang for buck look for a used i7 3770s, 3770, 2600s, or 2600

Fraps is also a complete garbage program for recording videos because it's old.

You can try using the NVENC (nvidia encoder) to take the recording load off your CPU and move it to the GPU, but you ALSO need a 2nd dedicated HDD just for the recordings to go if you want them to be error free.

You can try OBS since it's free:

And here's how to set it up for local recordings, as well as use multiple audio tracks if you desire.

And to set it up for Twitch:

So I need to upgrade my processor? i5 or i7 what can give me smooth recording at 60fps? i7 is expensive though. If any i5 processor can give me 60fps recording then I'll try to get it but I can only dream about having an i7 processor with the money I have. Please Suggest me a good rig and a budget one.

Built into geforce experience mate

Alt-Z should open it,you can set resolution / quality there & use the settings icon to set recording directory etc.
