Hi

i have a problem with my gaming PC build. It gose off every time i use it to play a game with low or high graphics. I dont realy know the problem. Sometimes it goes off as soon as the temperatures reaches 50C.

This is my PC build.

Motherboard: Asustek computer inc M5a99x evo R2.0 REV 1.xx

CPU: AMD FX(tm)-9370 Eight-Core Processor

RAM: 8GB

Graphic card:Gigabyte Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070

Power: STRIKE-x 800W

Solution
I agree, wait for a few more days to see some reviews of teh ryzen then decide which components to buy( you will have to buy a new motherboard, the cpu and new RAM), the otehr option is to buy a new AMD FX 8370 but is not a permanent solution, it will bottleneck your videocard bad.

I use MSI Afterburner

As said above use AMD overdrive to monitor amd cpu temps, I find its the most accurate. What is core voltage set to? Even if the cpu itself is not overheating the VRM's might be. It could also be due to your very low quality psu, not something I would recommend for the unstable power sucking monstrosity that is the amd fx 9370.

so what do you recommend me to do now. Do i have to change the mother board or the CPU or there is another way to fix the problem

ok ill use it right now, but is there any way to make it work without changing the CPU

As you've noted, there are two courses of action:
Change CPU (not much point the FX8's are not great)
Change MObo (not much point the mobo's that work are very expensive the FX9's are difficult to get stable and not much faster than an FX8).

If you have any chance to send the FX9 back, do so, and wait for Ryzen and start again, new Mobo and new CPU.

It's not the news you wanted, but you are stuck between two equally poor options.

What's probably happening is that the VRMs on the mobo are overheating, and failing, one day they will fail and take the CPU with it.

Sell the mobo and CPU separately whilst they still work.

There are only a few motherboards that officially support fx 9xxx chips one would be the asus ROG Crosshair V Formula and even that has a disclaimer when using that cpu. When did you buy it? Honestly I would try to return it and wait for amd ryzen or switch to intel, that cpu is not a very good pairing with a 1070 anyway.

As I said above you cant use an AMD motherboard with an i7, the cpu socket is totally different. Also depending on the i7 you may need DDR4 ram as well as a new mobo.

so is there any good CPU that works with my mother board if not. can you give me a good mother board that works with my PC build and with Intel core i7?

do you think it is going to be better than Intel core. Becouse the price are close from each other they both cost about 300 to 400$.
