Gaming mice: Razer Mamba vs Logitech G900

Hey everyone,

My current Razer Mamba is about to die so I'm looking for a new mice. I'm pretty comfortable with the Mamba so I was thinking about the new Mamba, but I've seen a few recommendations on the Logitech G900 also.

Razer Mamba
:: Pros:

+ Lightning effects (for some, I don't care actually).
+ Higher DPI (16.000 vs 12.000).
+ I've been using it for a few years so I get used to it.
+ Cool dock to place the mouse while charging.
+ Battery lasts longer than G900.
:: Cons:
- Battery failures (pretty common issue, easier and cheap to replace but not the point).
- Laser failures (pretty common issue too).
- Poor building material quality.
- Design (imo G900 is nicer).
- Razer Synapse software is AWFUL.

Logitech G900
:: Pros:

+ Logitech Gaming software ftw.
+ Design (imo is nice).
+ Performance extremely well (according to what I read).
+ One of the best sensors in the market.
:: Cons:
- Less DPI (12.000 vs Mamba 16.000).
- Dock to charge suc*s.
- Battery doesn't last as much as technical specs say with lights on.

I'm open to opinions. Thanks a lot.

    The Pros of the G900 outweigh the Cons. The Logitech is the better buy. Since you mentioned you don't care much about lighting effects, you can turn it off in the G900 and it'll eliminate that Con in your list. In terms of sensor, optical (G900) is better than laser (Mamba) for me (personally). Add to the fact that the G900 has the best sensor (PMW3366) compared to the Mamba (Philips PLT 2034 Twin Eye).

    I'd go for Logitech on this one.
  2. I'd go for Logitech, doesnt care if the mouse have a high dpi, because i think no one is using a dpi of 16k or either 12k. All we do need is the performance which you included in G900 and it is optical :)
  3. I would get the logitech and the dpi should be set to the deafult one of the sensor.

    I actually bought both mice on Black Friday last year and used them for a few weeks side-by-side. I can say indisputably that the Logitech is the better mouse. While the Razer is more comfortable, has a prettier dock, and prettier lighting effects, these are literally the ONLY perks the Razer has; the Logitech is better in every other way, including tracking, smoothness of movement, battery life (for me, the Logitech lasted longer on a charge), weight (Logitech is lighter), and most importantly, lack of interference. The Logitech was simply more "predictable" when playing FPS. It's also worth noting that the Razer would completely stop working for seconds at a time (as Razer mice tend to do) several times a day, while my Logitech has not done it ONCE since the day I purchased it. PLUS, the Logitech software is WORLDS ahead of the Razer software - Again, there is simply no comparison. Needless to say, I gave the Razer to a friend who simply had to have a Mamba despite my recommendations, and I am happily using my Logitech G900. It is honestly the best mouse I have ever owned.

    Hope this helps! :)
