Power supplies and other countries?

I know different countries have different types of wall outlets.. can you bring a regular old desktop PC to another country and just plug it in with a wall adapter? Or will you need a power cable that has the right kind of outlet prongs? I know some countries use different voltages too, does that matter or will a good PSU automagically support just about anything these days?

Anything else someone moving abroad would need to know if they wanted to bring their PC with them?

Solution
Depends on the PSU. Any good PSU will support 120-240v, however the power cables ARE different so they will need to be replaced depending on the country. Some cheaper PSUs have a switch on the back to switch from 120 to 240, and some just don't support it so its good to confirm this depending on the PSU you're running beforehand.

A good power supply can detect and adjust automatically to the input voltage. Some old ones have a manual switch close where to power cable connects to the power supply, to manually select the input voltage.

If in doubt, google the power supply and check the specs.

As for the outlet, you need an adapter (few bucks) to change the plug to the new outlet.

You can use either an adapter or a power cable with the countrys fitting. I'd prefer a cable. In my country (Sweden) it would cost EUR 3.
If the PSU works on different voltages depends on the model. It is usually printed on the label and also specified on the manufacturers homepage.
