Is my PSU powerful enough for my graphics card?

Hello! So I'm buying a new video card XFX AMD RX480 8GB and I want to know if my PSU is strong enough our it needs to be more powerful. My current PSU has 500W. If I need a new one any suggestions?
(I've i5 4440 3.1 GHz if that changes anything with more W)

Solution
Although 500W should be enough power for the video card, it really depends on the make and model of the PSU. Some PSU's are not capable of supplying the power they claim.

Okey, I will open my PC and check what kind of a PSU I've. Thanks for the answer!

Yeah without a full rundown of your specs I cant make a judgement call on it, I personally would say yes however as I also run a 8gb rx480 with an i5 processor and have plenty of wiggle room with my 80+ bronze psu from evga.

Make and model will determine if it's viable for your setup.

More than likely if you are going to be dropping 200 plus dollars on a new video card, I'd probably recommend spending 50 bucks or so on a new Psu as well. The wattage should be just fine, it's the quality(or likely quality) of your current Psu that worries me. List the brand name when you can and you'll get a definitive answer on whether you should replace it.
