System overview:
650W EVGA PSU.
EVGA GTX 1070.
i7 6700.
2x 8 GB 3000 DDR4 RAM.
ASUS Z170-A mobo.
Samsung EVO 500 gb SSD.

I don't get any kind of display output through my HDMI cable to my monitor, and I have confirmed both work. I have tried the checklist. Any ideas as to why it's not doing anything aside from going through the LEDs and then stopping on that one?

Alright so if I take out the graphics card it works. Does that mean my graphics card is busted or is there a hopefully less awful reason?

Solution
If no drive is connected, LED should stay lit, but machine should post and you would see BIOS. If that does not happen, something wrong is going on. And since you wrote that you made it to work WITHOUT GPU - did you had any drives connected when booting without GPU? Getting confused as this seems to be 2 different issues.

Hi I tried it without the SSD and with my other HDD plugged in and then with neither and I still get a solid red light there. When I did it without either one I got a different (a bit angrier lol) beep, so I suppose that means it's trying to do something at least and isn't a motherboard failure?
