I played for a year without any problems but since 3 days ago when i tried to play a game the gpu just turns off, the vents, leds are still spinning but the screen is black.
I suspect it is because of the 500W psu but what's weird is that i've had this setup for a year without any problems.
What do you guys think is the problem?

I would blame that on the psu, its a 500w 80 plus rated psu, which means it'll run at 80% efficiency this means the psu will take ac power from the wall and turn it into dc power, some of that power is lost and exhausted as heat, your system uses about 489w and your psu guarantees it will convert more than 400w of dc power. this is probably whats causing your gpu to shut off, i'd be surprised if it was the gpus fault. I would suggest getting a 700w psu to eliminate any chances of that happening again, ive linked the best psu I could find :). http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EVGA-700W-Gaming-PC-PSU-700B-Power-Supply-80-Plus-Bronze-Rated-120mm-Fan-/142125880983?hash=item21175cd697:m:mTjmU7Q4-DFQwiXyGfSNCAg

if you wanted to find out you could try underclocking your gpu via msi afterburner and seeing if it still turns off

the lowest you can safely go is 950mhz core clock and 1450mhz on the memory clock

that sounds pretty normal for the r9 390, most of the problems point to the psu, its just not enough to power your system, I think getting a new power supply is logical at this point

power supplies can slowly lose power over an extended period of time, I think the issue is 99% likely to be that
