Good evening everyone,
I have what may seems like a basic question.
Back on my old build I bought ram that was higher clocked than my mobo could handle (Without over clocking). All I had to do was go into the bios and enable an XMP setting. Here I am again looking into doing the same thing.
However this is with an entirely new system and relatively new platform. Since it still pretty new I'm having a hard time finding a information on this.
My mobo only excepts 2400 without overclocking. The ram I'm currently looking at is 3000.
2 questions here.
1 - Is there a XMP setting on these new Z270 boards or do I have to go into the bios and actually fiddle with voltage and what not to overclock?
2- If I choose not to overclock the ram will it automatically take it to 2400 or will it even work?
