Im using Cooler Master RS-500-PCAR-I3 with 1x6pin to r9 285 2x6pin right now, im upgrading to rx480 with 1x8pin, how to connect my psu to rx480?

You need to upgrade the power supply to run the card properly.

Adapters are a bad idea , I wouldn't use one to run the 480.

So far you've been lucky. Continuing to use that subpar psu to power components it was not designed to power is likely to end badly. 6-pin connections are designed to deliver 75w 8 pin connectors are designed for 150w. Whats cheaper a better PSU or potentially a whole new system or even just a few parts like a motherboard and/or gpu?

Get the recommended better quality PSU. That is the main issue here not the adapter.
