This is a post from the storage forum that i have updated with all my attempts... Since you are the only one with knowledge that is willing to help me I will post it here for you...
Below is the post with all my symptoms and all my attempts.
I got a new SSD that is an M.2 connection (not sata or pcei)
It is a PNY CS2030...
This is my issue, if I try to boot my comp using my HDD and SDD I get no signal to my monitor...
If I boot with only my HDD it boots fine (my screen works and the computer works)...
If I boot with only my SDD the screen will not come on (no signal) but the Computer works......
My room-mate threw away my windows copy key, because she thought the cardboard box it was in was junk....
I need to have both installed at the same time to boot and transfer files, so I don't pay $100 for windows again...
I have tried moving all my sata connections from ports 1,2,3,4,5,6.... I have also tried Booting my computer then installing my SSD, but my comp will freeze instantly and no signal... I have tried the same with the HDD....
Mobo is an Arctic Mortar...
Any solutions? I have searched on the internet for hours now... Can't find anything...
Edit: After testing I found my computer turns on just fine with the SSD installed... Just my monitor does not work once installed...
Edit #2: I have noticed my SSD does get hot within 30 seconds of running... My psu is a Corsair 750...
My full parts list is: Avexir ddr4 8gb (mem), arctic Mortar (mobo), Zotac gtx 1060 (gpu), Intel I5-6500 (cpu), Windows 10, Corsair 750 (psu), Seagate Barracuda 7200 mb/s (hdd), And a blue ray disk drive
Edit: #3 I have tried, resetting Cmos, different monitor, taking out GPU, Taking out Ram, Taking out HDD, Taking out disk Drive, plugging in SDD while comp is active, Changing boot protocol, connections on MoBo.....
Edit: #4, all my drivers are up to date, and I am booting in only uefi not legacy. Still no luck.
Edit: #5, I plugged in the ssd while the computer was running a series of unloaded videos on youtube... The screen froze instantly, but each video continued to load in sequence, which I could hear and interact with through my keyboard, mouse, and headset. So somehow this is affecting either my GPU or Monitor...
