Please Help!!! Problem with graphic cards and PCI express slot

Hey guys, I wanted to ask that my motherboard had got pci-express 3.0 x16 and the graphic card I am about to buy (gtx 1050 ti) is 3.0 x16. I heard a term "backward compatibility" on web and found about running of 3.0 in 2.0 and 2.0 in 1.0 etc. I actually wanted to ask if we have a 3.0 slot then can we run 3.0 graphic card if size (x16 or x8 etc.) Is compatible.

Please I expect a quick reply from this website.

As long as your MB has the pcie3.0 X16, even the 2.0X16, you will be fine. https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GTX_980_PCI-Express_Scaling/

Also make sure you have a PSU that can handle the gtx1050ti, and the GPU will fit into your case.
