Can't enter bios after transferring PC to a new case with new GPU

I recently purchased a GTX 1070 and then realized it was too big for my case. I took apart my PC and reinstalled it in a new case with the GTX 1070 plugged in. When I power on - the monitor shows my motherboard's (gigabyte z77 ds3h) main screen but when I hit "delete" it does not enter bios. I get no response from F9 or F12 either. When I hit "ctrl alt delete" the screen goes black for a moment so it appears the keyboard is functioning. I am pretty certain all the cables are plugged in correctly and I have checked that they are snug. The one difference I can think of is my HDs might be plugged into different SATA ports but I wasn't sure that would make any difference (plus I am pretty sure I plugged them into the same ones). I would really appreciate any suggestions!

Thanks for the response!

I should clarify I am using the same SATA ports but I have 4 HDs and they might not all be plugged into the same port as they were before in the old case, although I am pretty sure they are. I took the battery out for about 20 mins then put it back in and rebooted but the same thing happened.

I am going to try to boot up with my old graphics card when I get home from work today and see if it's any different.

So it turns out my hard drive with my OS on it was wiped. I unplugged my GPU and plugged the monitor directly into the motherboard and booted Windows and re-installed from a USB. Now I can get on when not using my new GPU but I have the same problem when I plug it back in.

I have seen similar threads and a lot of people advise to update the bios. I have version F2 and there is an F9. Should I try this? Is it risky at all?
