Laptop specs:
Motherboard model: GL702VM
BIOS version: GL702VM.303
Processor: Intel Core i7 6700HQ
RAM: 16GB DDR4
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060

Storage:
Samsung SSD 960 EVO 500GB
Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB

When playing games like H1Z1:King of the kill, GTA V and battlefield 1 I tend to get FPS drops.
When I checked task manager it seems like when the lag occurs the CPU Usage drops with 15-25% for a split second then goes back up to around 75%... Right now I'm playing on low settings 1366x768 and the lag still happends... What can be wrong? I've checked for dust when I upgraded both my M.2 SSD and HDD drive...

Oh and yeh, one more thing, in device manager it seems that my 850 EVO has the name of my old HDD... http://prntscr.com/eek9qn anyone know why this occurs?

I have been googling around for a while now and have tried most of the stuff that I've seen and thought might be the problem, but no luck as of yet. Hope someone can help me! Didn't buy a gaming laptop to sit and slam my hands in the table cuz of less than 60 FPS in low settings...

EDIT [SOLUTION]: I finaly found a solution that worked PERFECTLY for me. You can read more about it here: https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?89061-GL702VM...
I'm also getting new heatpads and changing the termal paste.

Benjamin

Play at higher settings, games have zero way of synchronizing their threads so set them a limit on how fast they can go by pushing your GPU.
You can also use msi afterburner,or any other frame limiter or even vsync, the general idea is to lower your fps even if it's a tiny bit it will smooth things out.

No, the SSD upgrade is one of the reasons I upgraded, the old M.2 drive filled up fast, and I don't want to use a HDD these days, so I upgraded both M.2 and HDD.

Edit: So no, the issue was there before.

Will try this, I'll come back to you about how it works out later :)
Just called Microsoft and the new Windows 10 Creators update could have a solution. Time to just sit down and wait for that if I don't find a solution.
