Hey folks, Im currently working on a build but the colour scheme isn't quite working at the moment. The MSI Radeon RX 480 8GB GAMING X is the graphics card I've decided to go for, in Australia its the best value graphics card and Its perfect for what I need in terms of performance. I've done some research but couldn't find out if the cooler on the graphics card can be removed and what or what parts can/can't be removed. If anyone has any tips or information about painting this specific card (because of the design/colour) that would be very much appreciated.

I want to paint the card were the red is to a grey colour, with the build below any ideas thrown design wise would be much appreciated.

Almost everywhere in the world, removing the shroud or the cooler(apart from EVGA) entitles you to a voiding of warranty. If you must paint your GPU shroud/cooler then it will have to be at the expense of the warranty for your card. I know for a fact that the cost of parts in Australia is high so this would be something for you think about.

You can take this guide as a reference

but be warned I'd ask you to contact your seller and MSI to confirm if you're not infringing upon the warranty.

You can paint the plastic cooler and the backplate but you can't paint the PCB since it's porous. The cooler on the other hand, you're going to have to be careful with the fans and the fan wiring to them. (Masking)Tape would be your friend here and ofc you can follow this guide for painting components:

Thanks for your response Lutfij, I think It will be in my best interests to contact the supplier about the warranty. Also that breakdown helped a lot. Couldn't find one. All I want is to get rid of that fucking red colour. I seriously don't understand the default isn't like a founders edition :/
Best Wishes.
