Is my GTX 1080 being bottlenecked. What should i do? New monitor or upgrade?

Hey guys,

For the record all I do is game on my PC.

So my current build is a Frankenstein PC that consists of my mini ATX mobo, 8GB RAM and i5 4430 3.0ghz processor from my Alienware X51 R2. I put those parts into a zalman z12 plus case along with a new 620W modular PSU and a Gigabyte GTX G1 1080.

I would like to upgrade my other parts to get the most out of my card but I don't really know if upgrading my processor, RAM and mobo is really going to make a big difference in gaming compared to what I already have.

I also have a ASUS 4k 60hz monitor. I'm able to play in 4K but on all low settings to get a constant 60FPS.

My other option is just keep my current build and buy a new 1440P 144hz monitor(1440p looks like shit on my 4K) or keep my 4k monitor and upgrade my PC to be able to up the settings a little bit.

Looking for some suggestions.

Thanks!

^^ what Justiceinacan said.

GTX 1080 does not have enough horsepower to do 4k@60fps at beautiful graphics (average ~40-45 mostly). I would go for 1440p@144hz monitor. Even if there is a bottleneck, it's only minimal, so it's not worth to spend another 200$+ for a better CPU for example and leave that 4430 unused. Motherboard does not change almost anything in game performance and RAM can be upgraded later if you need more (you will start seeing annoying screen freezing/stuttering when system runs out of RAM).
