yea, but i would recommend a GPU with at least 4gb of Vram, so a GTX 1050 ti would do best, you would for sure get 60 fps @1080p in every game

Sorry, but I do not completely agree with this statement.

The only way you can get 60fps @ 1080p in EVERY game is to lower the in-game visual settings to low or medium at best. No way can you get constant 60fps in that resolution in all games with a GTX 1050 Ti.

15-game average (benchmarked by Pcgamer):
56fps min. / 69fps avg @ 1080p MEDIUM
25fps min. / 41fps avg @ 1080p ULTRA

Digitaltrends benchmarks:
Fallout 4: 68-69fps avg @ 1080p ULTRA
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided: 23fps avg @ 1080p ULTRA
Battlefield 1: 60-61fps avg @ 1080p ULTRA

Trusted Reviews benchmarks:
Dirt Rally: 65.6fps avg @ 1080p ULTRA
Shadow of Mordor: 58.3fps avg @ 1080p ULTRA
Hitman: 43fps avg @ 1080p ULTRA
Rise of the Tomb Raider: 40.5fps avg @ 1080p ULTRA

Bit-tech benchmarks (MSI GTX 1050 Ti Gaming X):
Battlefield 1: 49fps min. / 52fps avg @ 1080p HIGH | 45fps min. / 49fps avg @ 1080p ULTRA
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided: 32fps min. / 39fps avg @ 1080p HIGH | 18fps min. / 23fps avg @ 1080p ULTRA
Doom: 34fps min. / 67fps avg @ 1080p HIGH | 41fps min. / 62fps avg @ 1080p ULTRA
Fallout 4: 48fps min. / 57fps avg @ 1080p HIGH | 36fps min. / 43fps avg @ 1080p ULTRA
Total War: Warhammer: 58fps min. / 63fps avg @ 1080p HIGH | 45fps min. / 48fps avg @ 1080p ULTRA
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt: 43fps min. / 48fps avg @ 1080p HIGH | 30fps min. / 36fps avg @ 1080p ULTRA

You Admitted it "The only way you can get 60fps @ 1080p in EVERY game is to lower the in-game visual settings to low or medium at best."

You don't have to play every game at ultra, as long as you balance your frames with your visuals, that's what i do. it depends on the game a lot also.

I also have a GTX 750 ti, but i am upgrading to an RX 480 soon, i know the performance of the card. every game i play i manage to get 60 fps @1080P. if u you were to get a 1050 ti you could play any game @1080P with 60 fps, with more less demanding games like e sports games you will for sure max the game out @1080p and get well over 60 fps, but with a game like Fallout 4 or BF 1 you may have to turn the settings down to medium-high to achieve over 60 fps @1080p, and with even more demanding games like Arma 3 or The Witcher 3 you will just have to turn the settings down to medium, unless you are willing to play at 45 fps with higher settings.

But you said "GTX 1050 ti would do best"... when is low visual settings THE best? :??:

Yeah the GTX 1050 TI is in the top 3 Best 1080p GPUs, getting a RX 480, or a GTX 1060 is overkill for 1080p

Wrong. Getting an RX 480 or a GTX 1060 is NOT overkill for 1080p.

GTX 1060, RX 480, and RX 470 are IDEAL (best) for 1080p gaming. GTX 1070 is overkill for 1080p. GTX 1050Ti is the top ENTRY-LEVEL 1080p gaming (followed by GTX 1050 and RX 460 in that descending order).

From Trustedreviews: Best Graphics Card 2017: 7 best GPUs for 1080p, 1440p, 4K and VR Gaming.

1080p: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
Low power consumption | 1080p gaming at Medium and High | 4GB GDDR5 memory

1080p: AMD Radeon RX 470
Capable Full HD performance | 4GB GDDR5 memory | Same GPU as RX 480

1080p, 1440p and VR: AMD Radeon RX 480
Ideal for Full HD and 1440p gaming | "VR-ready" | 8GB GDDR5 memory

1080p, 1440p and VR: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060
Smooth Full HD and 1440p performance | 6GB GDDR5 memory, 3GB available | "VR-ready"

1440p and VR: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070
Perfect for 1440p gaming | Ideal for VR | 8GB GDDR5 memory

From TechRadar: The best graphics cards of 2017

Best mid-range GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060
+ Brilliant 1080p performance | + Great overclocker | - No SLI compatibility | - Founder's Edition Price
"In an attempt to compete with the affordable RX 480, which promises 1080p, VR gaming at an aggressive price point, Nvidia was under pressure to come out with something in the same class. The GTX 1060, a mid-range graphics card with a firm grip on 1080p, or even 1440p graphics to a degree, is just that."

Best entry-level GPU: AMD Radeon RX 460
+ Beats integrated graphics at light 1080p gaming | + HDR support | - 4GB version less affordable
"Like the GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti from Nvidia, the latest in AMD’s Polaris catalog runs cheap, thanks to various takes on the Radeon RX 460 by XFX, Powercolor and others. The RX 460 proper is quite possibly the most affordable means of 1080p gaming outside of integrated CPU graphics. So long as you’re not looking to run The Witcher 3 at 60 fps on Ultra settings, the Radeon RX 460 is a capable, energy efficient piece of kit."

speaking of witch, I am thinking of getting a GTX 1050Ti now, (I know I know, it's a bit annoying how I switch between graphic cards) would that bottleneck my cpu?

Your Intel i5-6500 is one of the most powerful consumer-level CPUs around. It will not be bottlenecked by a GTX 1050 Ti nor will the GTX 1050 Ti be bottlenecked by your i5-6500.

As I have mentioned before, a weak GPU can reach 100% of its capabilities with a more powerful CPU; but a powerful GPU *may* not reach its full potential with a weak CPU.

no, your fine it will not bottleneck your CPU, it is actually a a pretty good match to go with your GPU
